Sunday (19XX)

“The concept of Sunday is multi-faceted – it not only denotes a festive atmosphere that progresses into a celebration, but also melancholy, joy, estrangement and loneliness, fullness of life yet also boredom. Sunday reflects a range of human states, one’s personal acceptance of content and beauty which results in different perceptions of same realities. The reality itself is relativized, it is tangible, but simultaneously dreamlike, a child’s anticipation and life fatigue, achievement of happiness and disappointment. A predestined duration of an individual as well as generations. In any case, an aggregate which is, regardless of the result, hopeful. Jordan’s paintings have been keeping the Sunday atmosphere for decades. The titles have changed, the motifs have had different iconographic characteristics, themes have deepened, but the essence has remained the same.”
