Childhood (1979)

“As far as we know, Jordan’s youth was painful and dramatic. Even though there must have been happy and sunny moments, they had most certainly been violently interrupted by his father’s tragic and heroic death, the fear of war, bombings, raids, flight, and poverty. We find the other aspect of the boy’s experience in his frequent visits to Slovenia to his uncle Hanzek, a person of peculiar talents and aspirations who encouraged and inspired him.”
